Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) have decried a breach of agreement with the government.
NARD had suspended the six weeks industrial strike after the Federal Government promised to meet their conditions.

NARD have decried violation of these conditions stated in the Memorandum of Understanding.
Since October 4 the association called off the strike with hopes of meeting these agreements.
During a char with newsmen, the NARD leader, Godiya Ishaya spoke on the latest development.
Ishaya said that the Government had neither withdrawn the suit nor paid the salary arrears.

He said, “The case is still in court; it was in our Memorandum of Understanding that they would withdraw it as soon as we called off our strike. We have resumed for over six weeks now but the case is still in court. Even the salaries have not been paid.”
Meanwhile, during the period of the strike, the health minister issued a no-work-no-pay directive. All the Chief Medical Directors were expected to implement this order.
The Minister of Labour Dr Chris Ngige also took the striking workers to Industrial court.

However, after some negotiations, NARD gave some conditions.
The press has still not been able to ascertain why these problems were lingering. When newsmen tried to contact these Ministers, they were left with silence.
At the time of filing this report, the Government has not said anything about this.
