COVID-19 In Nigeria Update: There Were 158 New Confirmed Cases and One New Death Recorded On Monday, January 31.

In the latest health news in Nigeria, there has been one new additional COVID-19-related death in Nigeria. This brings the total number of deaths to 3136.

Anambra State recorded the highest number of COVID-19 in Nigeria cases. 11 states recorded about 158 new cases.

The Nigerian Center for Disease Control (NCDC) released this update on Tuesday, February 1.

The record of 21 COVID-19 related deaths reported on December 25, 2021, remains the highest in recent time.

Anambra State leads with a record of 82 new cases.

Lagos State follows with a record of 35 confirmed new cases.

Akwa-Ibom State follows with a close record of 13 new cases.

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control said these new cases increased the number of cases to 253, 200.

The total number of deaths is currently 3,136.

Active cases: 20,749.

However, the NCDC reports a record of 229,315 COVID-19 patients who have recovered and have been discharged.

Again, the agency has lauded the activities of the National Emergency Operations Centre.

It added that a multi-sectoral National Emergency Operations Centre activated at Level 2 had coordinated the national response.
