In the latest health news in Nigeria, there has been two new additional COVID-19-related death in Nigeria. The total number of deaths increased to 3,027.
Delta State recorded the highest number of COVID-19 in Nigeria cases. 15 states recorded about 599 new cases. This was the update released by the Nigerian Center for Disease Control (NCDC) on Wednesday, December 29.

The record of 21 COVID-19 related deaths reported on December 25 still remains the highest in recent time.
Delta State leads with a record of 194 new cases.
Edo State follows with a distant record of 94 confirmed new cases.
The FCT follows with a record of 80 new cases.

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control said these new cases increased the number of cases to 238,420.
The total number of deaths is currently 3, 024.

However, the NCDC reports a record of 212,770 COVID-19 patients who have recovered and have been discharged.

Again, the agency has lauded the activities of the National Emergency Operations Centre.
It added that a multi-sectoral National Emergency Operations Centre activated at Level 2 had coordinated the national response.
