In the latest health news in Nigeria, there has been two new additional COVID-19-related death in Nigeria. The total number of deaths increased to 3,024.

Lagos State recorded the highest number of COVID-19 in Nigeria cases. 14 states recorded about 859 new cases. This was the update released by the Nigerian Center for Disease Control (NCDC) on Tuesday, December 28.

The record of 21 COVID-19 related deaths reported on December 25 still remains the highest in recent time.

Lagos State leads with a record of 555 new cases.

The FCT follows with a distant record of 57 confirmed new cases.

Rivers State follows with a record of 44 new cases.

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control said these new cases increased the number of cases to 238,420.

The total number of deaths is currently 3, 024.

Active cases: 16,569 (in view).

However, the NCDC reports a record of 212,770 COVID-19 patients who have recovered and have been discharged.

Again, the agency has lauded the activities of the National Emergency Operations Centre.
