The Lagos State Government has said that COVID-19 Moderna Vaccines and Pfizer vaccines are available.
It was obtained that the vaccines are now available at the public and private vaccination centres in Lagos.

The Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, made this known on Instagram.
He advised the people of Lagos State to get vaccinated.
Prof Abayomi also disclosed that booster doses are now available in public and private centres.
This announcement was made after the arrival of a new batch of vaccines from the National Primary Healthcare Board.
He wrote:
“Administration of vaccines in public vaccination centres are free of charge. However, vaccination at private centres with the administration of two doses of COVID-19 vaccine will attract a service charge of N6,000 while one dose will attract N4,500.
“Lagos State Ministry of Health @lagoshealth wishes to again reassure Lagos residents and the general public that COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective.”

This online news medium reported in December 2021 the unavailability of the Moderna vaccine in Lagos.
It was obtained from the Instagram page of the Lagos State Commissioner of Health, Prof Akin Abayomi.
He confirmed the speculation of the scarcity of the vaccines adding that this would delay those waiting for the second dose.
The Lagos State Ministry of Health said the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) has not supplied the state with the Moderna vaccines.

Prof Abayomi urged the people of Lagos to exercise patience adding that the situation is temporary.
His words:
“*Non – availability of #COVID19 Moderna Vaccine in Lagos State – Appeal for Restraint by Lagos State Ministry of Health.*
“Lagos State Ministry of Health (LSMOH) and Lagos State Primary Healthcare Board (LSPHCB) sincerely appeal for understanding over the non-availability of Moderna Vaccine in all vaccination centres in Lagos at the moment.
“It should be noted that the supply of Vaccines to all states of the Federation is done exclusively by National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA). Like other states of the federation, Lagos State relies on NPHCDA for supply of all COVID-19 Vaccines.
“At the moment, Lagos State is yet to be supplied with another batch of Moderna Vaccine since the last stock was exhausted. The situation is however temporary.
“Lagos State is in touch with NPHCDA to ensure availability of adequate doses of Moderna Vaccine at vaccination centres as soon as possible.”
The Commissioner assured those waiting for the second dose of getting it when it is available.

The statement continued:
“Please be rest assured that second doses of Moderna Vaccine will be administered to all who have received the first doses as soon as Lagos State receives new supply from NPHCDA.
“All those who have received the first doses will be adequately notified and attended to accordingly as soon as a new supply of Moderna Vaccine arrives Lagos State.
“Thanks for your understanding!”
