Nigerian State Embarks On Feeding 22,000 Malnourished Children
A Nigerian state Government has vowed to feed 22,000 children through the expansion of food production.

Gombe State Government has said that it will increase its production of complementary food.
It pointed that this would benefit 22,000 malnourished children across the 11 Local Government Areas of the state.
Dr Aisha Maigari, the Commissioner for Science, Technology and Innovation made this known.
She said this at the launch of the introductory training on intellectual property and technology transfer operations at Gombe State University.

We understand that the training was organized by the state government and federal government. The federal body is the National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion represented.
The Commissioner said the Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya has granted the extension.
Dr Maigari said that each local government would produce these foods for a minimum of 2,000 children.
“We have registered with NAFDAC. It has passed all the stages. We are now waiting for the NAFDAC number,” she added.
She assured that when NAFDAC gives them a registration number the project commences.
Dr Maigari said that the complementary product becomes Gombe state’s intellectual property.

The products produced would be consumed in the state. Also, large quantities would be exported to other states and countries.
She also revealed the intent of the state government for local inventors and innovators.
Maigari said that innovator and inventors across the state would benefit from the data bank the state government would be creating.
