COVID-19 In Nigeria Update: There Were 123 New Confirmed Cases and Six New Deaths Recorded On Thursday, January 20.

In the latest health news in Nigeria, there have been six new additional COVID-19-related deaths in Nigeria. This brings the total number of deaths to 3123.

Edo State recorded the highest number of COVID-19 in Nigeria cases. 12 states recorded about 123 new cases.

The Nigerian Center for Disease Control (NCDC) reported this on Friday, January 21.

The record of 21 COVID-19 related deaths reported on December 25, 2021, remains the highest in recent time.

Edo State leads with a record of 38 new cases.

Osun State follows with a record of 25 confirmed new cases.

Rivers State follows with a close record of 22 new cases.

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control said these new cases increased the number of cases to 251, 694.

The total number of deaths is currently 3,123.

Active cases: 23,116.

However, the NCDC reports a record of 225,445 COVID-19 patients who have recovered and have been discharged.

Again, the agency has lauded the activities of the National Emergency Operations Centre.

It added that a multi-sectoral National Emergency Operations Centre activated at Level 2 had coordinated the national response.
