In the latest health news in Nigeria, there have been six new additional COVID-19-related deaths in Nigeria. This brings the total number of deaths to 3077.
Rivers State recorded the highest number of COVID-19 in Nigeria cases. 8 states recorded about 537 new cases. This was the update released by the Nigerian Center for Disease Control (NCDC) on Monday, January 10.

The record of 21 COVID-19 related deaths reported on December 25, 2021, remains the highest in recent time.
Rivers State leads with a record of 313 new cases.
Lagos State follows with a distant record of 178 confirmed new cases.
The FCT follows with a record of 19 new cases.

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control said these new cases increased the number of cases to 245,404.
The total number of deaths is currently 3,058.
Active cases:Â 26,238.
However, the NCDC reports a record of 218,997 COVID-19 patients who have recovered and have been discharged.

Again, the agency has lauded the activities of the National Emergency Operations Centre.
