The NYSC has made a strong move to protect Corps members from the COVID-19 pandemic.
It said that from the next orientation exercise in 2022, all incoming corps members must present evidence of vaccination before they can partake in the NYSC exercise.

The National Youth Service Corps made this announcement on Monday, December 13.
This is an effort by the NYSC to guard on strict adherence to COVID-19 safety preventions.
The NYSC Deputy Director, Press and Public Relations, Emeka Mgbemena, disclosed this in a press statement.

He said the NYSC Director-General, Brig. Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim made this known while addressing the next incoming corps members.
“From the next orientation exercise in 2022, all incoming PCMs will show evidence of vaccination before they would be allowed into the camp for registration,” he said.
Ibrahim urged the 2021 Batch ‘C’ Stream Two Corps Members and Camp Officials to take the vaccine.
He also advised the outgoing NYSC corps members to acquire skills that would make them independent.
Ibrahim revealed that the scheme has partnered with stakeholders to sponsor business proposals of corps members.

Corps members were also advised to desist from the night and unauthorized journeys.
Meanwhile, this update came after the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control confirmed cases of Omicron variant.
