COVID-19 In Nigeria: 33 New Deaths, 125 New Cases
In the latest health news in Nigeria, there has been an increased number of COVID-19 deaths in Nigeria.
The epi-center of COVID-19 in Nigeria, Lagos State and nine other states recorded about 125 new cases. This was the update released by the Nigerian Center for Disease Control (NCDC) on Sunday, October 17.

An alarming record of 33 COVID-19 related deaths was reported from the same date.
Taking over the epi-center in the numbers of COVID-19 cases, the FCT records 45 new cases. The other state with a disturbing record is Kaduna with 34 new cases.

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control said the record of 125 new COVID-19 infections have increased the number of infections in the country. Nigeria has now recorded 209,298.
The total number of deaths is currently 2, 837.
However, the NCDC reports a record of 197,143 COVID-19 patients have recovered and have been discharged.

The health agency said the 125 new COVID-19 infections have brought the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country to 209,298.
Again, the agency has lauded the activities of the National Emergency Operations Centre.
It added that a multi-sectoral National Emergency Operations Centre activated at Level 2 had coordinated the national response.
