While I may not be able to answer whether or not the child belongs to another man, I can tell you that it is possible to receive your “period” and still be pregnant.
Now, I’m putting “period” in quotes because what women assume is their period during this time, is usually just spotting.
Every month, eggs are released from a woman’s ovaries and when these eggs are not fertilized, they leave the uterus and shed through the vagina, thus causing periods. Therefore, if the eggs are fertilized, they will not shed through the vagina and the woman will not have her period.
However, if a woman is pregnant, she might experience a small amount of spotting which usually occurs 10 – 14 days after conception. This bleeding is caused by the fertilized egg attaching to the lining of the uterus.
The implantation bleeding is often confused as a period because it occurs around the same time a woman would be expecting her period. One way to confirm if the woman is not pregnant or if it is implantation bleeding is to take a pregnancy test.
Now, if Mr. Dele is still having his doubts, he doesn’t have to wait till the baby is born to find out who the father is. Advancements in technology have made it possible to carry out a prenatal DNA test as early as 9 weeks along so if he absolutely wants to establish paternity during the pregnancy, this could be an option.
