Kogi Govt Detects 20 Poisoned Cows Sends Strong Warning To Residents.

The Kogi State Government has warned residents in the state to stop consuming beef.
The State Director Of Veterinary Services, Dr Salau Tarawa issued this warning.
We learned from multiple sources that after the death of 20 cows in the state, investigators found out that the animals were poisoned.

In a bid to protect the indigents of the state, the state, Government warned them to avoid beef for one whole week.
Tarawa said the cows were taken to five areas of the state for sale. The affected areas are;
- Ajaokuta.
- Kotonkarfe.
- Obajana.
- Osara.
- Kannada.
The Permanent Secretary of the State Ministry of Agriculture, Mallam appealed to the public for co-operation.

Head, Agro Rangers Unit Kogi State Command, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence, Corps, Bayode Emmanuel, told newsmen that the cows were discovered by members of their unit.
Emmanuel added:
“The cows emerged from the back of the state secretariat complex where they had grazed. All of a sudden, they started behaving funny, slumped and died within minutes.
“Upon interrogation, the Fulani herdsman said he was coming out with them after grazing before the incident happened.”
We learned that other government agencies are working hard to trace where the cows grazed and to halt their sales.
