JAMB Permits Teenagers Without COVID-19 Vaccination To Access Facilities

JAMB has announced that teenage candidates are allowed to access their facilities without the COVID-19 vaccination.

Fabian Benjamin, the head of the JAMB media and protocol unit disclosed this.

He said the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board now allow:

  • Teenage visitors and candidate access to its facilities without COVID-19 cards.

Meanwhile, the board had earlier announced a “no vaccination card no entry” policy.

This was a nationwide guideline restricting persons without the vaccine access to its facilities.

However, on Tuesday, the tertiary examination board took a U-turn.

This was after a reversed decision was announced by the Head of Protocol Unit.

Benjamin said that the vaccination cards were mandatory for persons within the vaccination policy. He referred to the vaccination policy of the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control.

He revealed that the board discovered many underage candidates falsified their age to have access to JAMB’s facilities.

He also noted that many are making frantic efforts to get vaccinated.

Benjamin said that JAMB required proof of age to confirm the age of their candidates.

The Statement concluded:

“All candidates, clients, and other members of the public below the age of 18 years are not required to produce any vaccination card before being allowed access to our facilities. “This category of persons is not covered by the NCDC vaccination policy.”
