Ekiti Kicks Off Second Phase of Polio Vaccination In 2022 To Curb Endemic

The Ekiti State Government has announced the second phase of its polio vaccination.

The chairperson of the Ekiti State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Monisola Oloro, said the vaccination kicks off on April 9.

She made this known to newsmen in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.

Oloro said the vaccine is available for children from 0 to 5 years old.

The chairperson urged mothers to prepare their wards for the vaccines because the event would hold for 4 days.

She explained to newsmen that the goal of the massive polio vaccination is to protect children from the irreversible effects of polio.

Oloro said that the vaccines would be administered at:

  • Houses.
  • Market places.
  • Religious centres.
  • Schools.
  • Farmsteads.

She emphasised the commitment of Governor Kayode Fayemi toward delivering quality health care in Ekiti state.

Oloro vowed that the Governor would leave no stone unturned to deliver quality healthcare to the people of Ekiti.

She appealed to the people of the state to support the effort of the Governor in the provision of quality healthcare to them.
