COVID-19 In Nigeria Update: There Were 50 New Confirmed Cases and One New Death Recorded On Sunday, February 20.

In the latest health news in Nigeria, there has been one new additional COVID-19-related death in Nigeria. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 3142.

Imo State recorded the highest number of COVID-19 in Nigeria cases. 4 states and the FCT recorded about 50 new cases.

The Nigerian Center for Disease Control (NCDC) released this update on Monday, February 21.

The record of 21 COVID-19 related deaths reported on December 25, 2021, remains the highest in recent time.

Imo State leads with a record of 22 new cases.

Lagos State follows with a record of 14 confirmed new cases.

Rivers State follows with a distant record of 7 new cases.

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control said these new cases increased the number of cases to 254, 293.

The total number of deaths is currently 3,142.

Active cases: 20,521.

However, the NCDC reports a record of 230,755 COVID-19 patients who have recovered and have been discharged.

Again, the agency has lauded the activities of the National Emergency Operations Centre.

It added that a multi-sectoral National Emergency Operations Centre activated at Level 2 had coordinated the national response.
