COVID-19 In Nigeria: There Were 404 New Confirmed Cases And One New Death On Sunday, December 19.

In the latest health news in Nigeria, there has been one new additional COVID-19-related death in Nigeria. This brings the total number of deaths to 2985.

Oyo State recorded the highest number of COVID-19 in Nigeria cases. 12 states recorded about 404 new cases. This was the update released by the Nigerian Center for Disease Control (NCDC) on Monday, December 20.

The record of 26 COVID-19 related deaths reported on October 25 still remains the highest in recent time.

Oyo State leads with a huge record of 122 new cases. The FCT follows with a record of 84 confirmed new cases while Lagos State follows with 52 new cases.

Kaduna – 51.

Imo – 20.

Delta – 18.

Kano – 17.

Kwara – 16.

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control said these new cases increased the number of cases to 223,905.

The total number of deaths is currently 2, 985.

Active cases: 9,383.

However, the NCDC reports a record of 211,537 COVID-19 patients who have recovered and have been discharged.

Again, the agency has lauded the activities of the National Emergency Operations Centre.

It added that a multi-sectoral National Emergency Operations Centre activated at Level 2 had coordinated the national response.
