In the latest health news in Nigeria, there have been five new additional COVID-19-related deaths in Nigeria. This brings the total number of deaths to 3058.
Lagos State recorded the highest number of COVID-19 in Nigeria cases. 20 states recorded about 856 new cases. This was the update released by the Nigerian Center for Disease Control (NCDC) on Thursday, January 6.

The record of 21 COVID-19 related deaths reported on December 25, 2021, remains the highest in recent time.
Lagos State leads with a record of 337 new cases.
Kaduna State follows with a distant record of 152 confirmed new cases.
The FCT follows with a record of 87 new cases.

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control said these new cases increased the number of cases to 245,404.
The total number of deaths is currently 3,058.
Active cases: 25,099.
However, the NCDC reports a record of 217,247 COVID-19 patients who have recovered and have been discharged.

Again, the agency has lauded the activities of the National Emergency Operations Centre.
