Health Expert Debunks Popular Myth About Cold Water, Three Power Benefits of Coldwater.
A medical doctor, Chinonso Egemba has revealed one major myth about cold water.
Dr Egemba popularly known as Aproko Doctor debunked the myth that cold water causes pneumonia.
According to the doctor pneumonia, sore throat, cold and catarrh is not caused by Coldwater. He stated that these infections are majorly caused by micro-organisms such as:
- Virus.
- Fungi.
- Bacteria.
He said that the only time cold water causes a problem is when a person suffers from achalasia. Achalasia is a condition where someone finds it difficult to swallow.
His words:
“Some people are used to suffer-head that they are even arguing my profession with me. What is this argument? That cold water will give you pneumonia. My friend, go outside and look at the sun. You see the way the sun is burning everybody and they still tell you not to drink cold water. They claim that it causes pneumonia, catarrh and sore throat. It’s a lie!
“These conditions are linked with micro-organisms such as; bacteria, viruses and sometimes, fungi. Coldwater is not the cause of pneumonia.
“The only time cold water becomes a problem is when a person suffers from Achalasia. If you do not have this condition please drink your Coldwater.”
Benefits of drinking cold water
Healthline portal has recommended cold drinking water as healthy water.
In fact, the portal debunked claims that drinking cold water is unhealthy. A major health benefit stated for cold water is keeping the body from overheating. Overheating occurs during or after workout sessions.
It burns calories just like warm water.
It also helps to maintain weight loss.
The health portal emphasised that cold water should not be used to commence weight loss.
“But it’s not likely that drinking cold water is a powerful jump-start tool for weight loss,” it stated.
