Staff Of Adamawa Specialist Hospital Call For Sack Of Medical Director

The aggrieved staff of Adamawa Specialist hospital in Yola have called for the sack of the medical director.
Wellness Health learned that this was over alleged illegal employment of laboratory scientists.
Some workers took to the street to protest the lack of human relations by the MD, Dr Wadinga Dauda.
The News Agency of Nigeria said the protesters on Monday, blocked the main gate with placards. They demanded the sack of the MD and these laboratory scientists.

Awwal Lau, from the Medical Records Department, who led the protesters, accused the MD of the following:
- Employing non-indigenes.
- Lack of human relations in handling staff matters.
- Operating a parallel laboratory in the hospital.
The MD told newsmen over a phone chat that when he took over, the pharmacy department was indebted to the tune of N39m, due to the alleged involvement of the staff in the diversion of drugs.
He explained that some of the protesters were transferred out for their roles in drug and scanning racketeering.
The MD said:
“People should not be taking political issues into health care services delivery.
“We are fighting this cause for the people of Adamawa, who had suffered bad medical services from the hands of these quacks.”
Dauda noted that ending the diversion of funds and equipment in the hospital resulted in the:
- Transformation of Accident and Emergency Services.
- Transformation of the laboratories, where PSA, full blood count.
- Liver tests are been conducted instantly.
“As it is now, major trajectory surgeries and kidney de-stoning can now be treated as cheap as N25,000 for all manner of patients in the state,” he explained
